Device inventory
Lists every device with Zabbix hosts as the source of truth, enriches them from a CSV with criticality, owner and department that Zabbix does not hold, and finds devices missing from Zabbix. Administrators only. All editions.
Device inventory puts Zabbix hosts and a CSV in one table. Zabbix is the source of truth for which devices exist: hosts, plus vendor, model and version from the inventory and sysDescr. The CSV adds what Zabbix does not know: criticality, owner and department. The inventory is available in every edition; only administrators see the page.

The gateway caches the Zabbix host list and refreshes it every 5 minutes. If Zabbix cannot be read, the page shows the error and lists only the CSV rows.
Inventory coverage
| Metric | Content |
|---|---|
| CSV match rate | The share of Zabbix devices matched to a CSV row |
| Inventory entries | Devices from Zabbix and CSV rows |
| CSV only | In the CSV but not found in Zabbix; usually devices nobody added to Zabbix |
| Vendor/model known | Devices whose vendor and model were identified from the inventory or sysDescr |
Find a device
Type in Search name, IP, vendor, model, owner. Multiple words must all match.
The Source column shows Zabbix, Zabbix + CSV or CSV only.
Import a CSV
Prerequisites
- Administrator role.
Steps
- Under Enrich the inventory from CSV, select Download sample to get a sample file with the header row.
- Fill it in and save it as UTF-8 CSV.
- (Optional) Check Replace existing rows to clear every previously imported row first. Unchecked, rows for the same host name and IP are overwritten.
- Select Upload CSV.
The first row of the CSV must be the header. The allowed columns are:
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
name | Required. Device name |
host | Host name, FQDN or short name. At least one of host and ip is required |
ip | IP address |
criticality | Criticality, for example critical, high |
category | Device category, for example core switch |
owner, department | Owner and department |
vendor, model, serial, location | Vendor, model, serial number, location |
CSV rows match Zabbix hosts on host name (case-insensitive, FQDN or short name) or IP. A file can be up to 2 MB and 50,000 rows. If it has a column that is not allowed, a row without name, or a row with neither host nor ip, nothing is imported and the error names the row or column.
Monitoring health
Checks each device's monitoring coverage and hygiene, with a health score and remediation; identifies network devices from inventory and sysDescr and judges them against a local EOL catalog. Read-only towards Zabbix. All editions.
Item dictionary
List the item keys in a host group with value types, latest values and distinct-value counts; copy them into a question or insert them into a chat query. Available in every edition.
